This terrific and tense action movie from the wonderful Aldrich has Mitchum as a World War II correspondent who stumbles across a list of collaborators. Attempting to escape Greece with the valuable information he intends to pass on to the Allies, he is pursued by the Nazis and the Greek resistance. Mitchum throws himself into the role, and he is a typical Aldrich hero: driven and pigheaded, not always likeable but always on the side of right. Baxter is a suitable opponent, it is all brilliantly photographed and there are plenty of thrills and twists.
