The full length feature version of the enormously popular TV series "Rising Damp" stars Leonard Rossiter as the mean, miserable landlord Rigbsy, whose sole aim in life is to win over Miss Jones. Unfortunately her eye always seems to stray for every other male staying in the seedy boarding house. They include the quietly spoken black medical student Philip, art student John, and the seemingly suave and somewhat deceptive Seymour, played by Denholm Elliott. Will Rigbsy win the day, or even Miss Jones' heart, and what will the house cat Vienna have to do with the outcome? All will be revealed in this, one of the funniest comedies in the English language.
