Filumena (Sophia Loren) was working in a brothel when she first met Domenico (Marcello Mastroianni), and has been his mistress ever since. Upon hearing that he plans to marry a much younger woman, Filumena devises a brilliant scheme to convince him that it is her that he should be marring.
One of the finest films to come from director Vittorio De Sica, this spicy Italian romp showcases the charms of the ever-beautiful Sophia Loren and the equally suave Marcello Mastroianni.
Review:
Well I think that you should watch this wonderful Italian film. It is taken from the comedy "Filumena Marturano" by Eduardo De Filippo. Marcello Mastroianni is superb and Sophia Loren is excellent. It's a pity she didn't won the second Oscar as best actress of this film.
The title-song "'O cielo ce manna 'sti 'ccose" by Fred Bongusto is absolutely wonderful.
